Websites, driver recruitment and automation for trucking and logistics companies

The short answer

A trucking company's website has two audiences with nothing in common: shippers and brokers deciding whether to tender a load, and drivers deciding whether to apply. Redenn builds carrier sites that serve both, with a capability page shippers can verify, a driver application that works from a phone, quote intake by lane and equipment, and a customer portal where it makes sense. Jagbir Transport and Stefano's Inc. are Redenn builds in this space.

The problems we hear from trucking and logistics companies

  • Brokers and shippers look us up before tendering and the site looks like a ten-year-old template.
  • Driver recruitment is our biggest constraint and the site has a careers page with a phone number.
  • Quote requests arrive without the lane, the equipment or the dates, and we email back and forth for days.
  • Customers ask for our insurance certificate and safety information every week.
  • After-hours dispatch calls go to a cell phone that is sometimes off.
  • We run temperature-controlled grocery freight and the site says nothing about it.

The solution architecture

Each piece maps to a real Redenn service with a published price.

  1. A capability page shippers can verify

Equipment types, lanes and regions, services (FTL, LTL, dedicated, temperature-controlled, cross-dock), terminals, and the compliance facts a shipper checks. Written for a logistics buyer, with nothing they cannot confirm.

    Website Development
  2. Driver applications from a phone

A short application that works on mobile, with licence class, experience and document upload, an instant acknowledgement, and a reminder to recruiting until it is reviewed. The long form comes later.

    Document Automation
  3. Quote intake by lane and equipment

A quote form that asks for origin, destination, equipment, weight, dates and frequency, so the first reply is a rate, not a question. Follow-up runs until the quote is answered and then until the shipper decides.

    Lead Follow-Up Automation
  4. A customer portal for documents and status

Shippers log in to download the insurance certificate and compliance documents, see shipment status where your dispatch system can share it, and find invoices. Custom work on Redenn Dynamic hosting.

    Customer Portal
  5. After-hours dispatch calls answered

The AI Receptionist takes after-hours calls, captures the shipper, the load and the urgency, and escalates according to your on-call rules.

    AI Receptionist
  6. A shipper account pipeline

CRM Setup with accounts, lanes quoted, quotes open and quotes won, so sales knows which shippers are active and which went quiet.

    CRM Setup
  7. Search and AI visibility for services and lanes

Pages for each service and major lane, with consistent business information, so a search or an AI assistant asking for a temperature-controlled carrier in your region can find an accurate page.

    Search + AI Visibility

Where trucking and logistics companies usually start

How customers find a trucking company in Canada

Shippers and brokers find carriers through load boards, referrals and existing relationships, then verify them online before tendering: equipment, lanes, insurance, safety record and whether the company looks like it will still exist next year. Drivers find carriers through job boards, word of mouth and social media, then look at the website to judge the equipment, the pay structure and whether applying is easy.

Google states that its AI features in Search use the core index and ranking systems with no special requirements beyond standard SEO practice. For a carrier, that means real pages for each service and region and consistent company details are what get surfaced, whether a shipper is searching classically or asking an AI assistant which carriers run refrigerated freight between two cities.

Real Redenn projects in this space

Jagbir Transport is an asset-based trucking company in Toronto; Redenn built its website to present its services and fleet to shippers. Stefano's Inc. is a grocery freight and logistics company serving Canada, and its Redenn site presents its grocery logistics services. Both were built on Next.js and hosted on Vercel. We describe what the sites do, not the results they produced, because results depend on the business.

What a trucking website must do

It should let a shipper verify you in two minutes, let a driver apply in five, and turn a quote request into a rate.

Pages and features for a trucking or logistics company
Page or featurePurpose
Capability and equipment pageWhat you haul, where, with what; the shipper's verification page.
Service pagesFTL, LTL, dedicated, temperature-controlled, cross-dock, warehousing.
Quote request by lane and equipmentComplete requests; faster rates.
Driver careers page with mobile applicationRecruiting that works from a truck stop.
Compliance and insurance pageRegistrations and coverage as held; certificates on request or in the portal.
Customer portalDocuments, status and invoices for shippers.
Terminals and contact pageDispatch, sales and recruiting contacts, separately.

Automation and CRM for trucking companies

Recruiting and quoting are the two flows worth automating first. A driver application acknowledged instantly and reviewed within a day is a recruiting advantage; a quote request that arrives complete is a rate sent the same day. The CRM keeps shipper accounts and open quotes visible to sales, and the portal ends the weekly certificate emails.

Worked example at published prices: Business Plus at CA$799 with eight pages including careers and services, Lead Follow-Up Automation from CA$149 for quotes and applications, CRM Setup from CA$299, and AI Receptionist from CA$149/month for after-hours dispatch calls. A customer portal is quoted as Custom with a fixed price and runs on Redenn Dynamic at CA$49/month or Redenn Pro Managed at CA$99/month. Telephony usage is billed separately.

  • Driver application acknowledged and routed to recruiting with a review reminder.
  • Quote request acknowledged; sales reminded until a rate goes out.
  • Shipper documents self-served from the portal.
  • After-hours calls captured and escalated by on-call rules.

Compliance and trust

Carriers operate under federal and provincial safety and registration regimes, and shippers and brokers verify operating registrations, safety ratings and insurance before tendering. Publish those facts exactly as held and keep them current; the compliance page and the portal exist so that verification is easy and accurate. If the company has 50 or more employees in Ontario, the AODA requires the public website to conform to WCAG 2.0 Level AA.

Driver applications collect sensitive personal information, including licence details and work history, so PIPEDA or the substantially similar provincial law applies and applications should be stored in an access-controlled system, not a shared inbox. Sales emails to shippers are commercial electronic messages under CASL, even business-to-business, and need consent, identification and an unsubscribe option. Quebec customers must be able to use the site in French.

Questions

Can the site connect to our dispatch or TMS software?

Where the software has an API or export, shipment status and documents can be shown in the portal. We confirm the integration path before quoting; without it, the portal still handles documents and invoices.

How does the driver application work on a phone?

A short mobile form with licence class, experience, region and document upload, acknowledged instantly. The full application follows after recruiting makes contact.

What has Redenn built for trucking companies?

Jagbir Transport, an asset-based carrier in Toronto, and Stefano's Inc., a grocery freight and logistics company serving Canada. Both are Next.js sites presenting their services; we do not publish results.

What does a trucking website cost with Redenn?

Business at CA$499 covers a carrier site with five pages. Business Plus at CA$799 adds a CMS and booking. A customer portal is quoted as Custom with a fixed price and ship date.

Do CASL rules apply to emailing shippers?

Yes. CASL applies to commercial electronic messages to businesses as well as consumers, with some exceptions. Sales sequences are built with consent capture, identification and an unsubscribe mechanism.
