How much does SEO cost in Canada?

The short answer

Search engine optimization in Canada costs CA$99 to CA$499 as a one-time foundation at Redenn (Search Setup through Complete Search Foundation) and from CA$299 to CA$999 per month for ongoing plans, depending on whether you compete for one neighbourhood or a national market. No provider can honestly guarantee rankings, so the useful question is what the money buys: technical hygiene, content, local signals, entity clarity and measurement.

What search work actually involves

SEO has evolved. It is no longer keywords and links alone; it is the work of making a business easy to find, understand and trust across Google Search, Google Maps, AI Overviews and the AI search engines. That work falls into six areas, and every quote you receive should say which of them it covers.

  • Technical: crawlability, titles and descriptions, canonical tags, sitemap, robots, structured data, speed and Core Web Vitals.
  • Content: pages that answer the questions customers actually ask, with enough depth to be worth citing.
  • Local: Google Business Profile, consistent business information, local pages and reviews.
  • Entity clarity: making sure search engines and AI systems understand who you are, what you do and where.
  • Authority: earning references from other sites with content worth linking to, never by buying links.
  • Measurement: Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, profile insights and, above all, enquiries.

One-time foundations

A foundation is done once and lasts as long as the site does. It does not produce new content or manage a profile month by month; it makes sure that everything you publish later is built on solid ground. These are Redenn's published foundation products.

Monthly plans

Monthly plans exist because search is competitive and content, profiles and technical health need maintenance. Each Redenn plan lists what is delivered every month, so a flat month is visible rather than hidden behind a dashboard.

Why nobody can guarantee rankings

Google's own documentation states that its AI features in Search, AI Overviews and AI Mode, use the core Search index and ranking systems, and that there are no special requirements beyond standard SEO best practices. The same document is a reminder that the ranking systems are Google's: a provider can improve the inputs, but the output is decided by systems that change without notice and by competitors doing the same work.

So a guarantee of position one, or a promise of a set number of AI citations, is either a misunderstanding or a sales tactic. What can be promised is the work: which pages, which fixes, which reports, by when. Redenn's plans are written that way, and the reports say when a month was flat.

One-time or monthly: how to choose

Use the list below as a decision guide. The honest answer for some businesses is the last line.

  • Choose a foundation only if your market is small, you publish rarely and the goal is to be found by name and for the handful of services you offer.
  • Choose Local Search Management if most customers come from one city and the map, reviews and directions matter more than articles.
  • Choose Search Growth if customers research before buying and you have no time to write.
  • Choose Search + AI Visibility if customers are asking ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Mode for recommendations in your category.
  • Choose Search Everywhere if you have several locations or a competitive category where more content and conversion work are needed.
  • Choose nothing yet if the site is unfinished, your business information online is inconsistent, or nobody answers enquiries within the hour. Fix those first; they are cheaper and they compound.

How to measure what you paid for

Insist on reporting that starts with enquiries and works backwards. Impressions and clicks in Search Console, calls and direction requests in Google Business Profile, and referrals from AI surfaces where they can be measured are all useful, but the number that pays the invoice is enquiries that became customers.

Give any monthly plan several months before judging it, because content takes time to be discovered and indexed. A plan that shows nothing after that period deserves a conversation, not an automatic renewal.

Questions

How much does SEO cost per month in Canada?

At Redenn, from CA$299 per month for one location's local search, from CA$499 for Search Growth, from CA$699 for Search + AI Visibility and from CA$999 for Search Everywhere. Across the wider market prices vary widely with scope; compare the monthly deliverables, not the label.

Is a one-time SEO setup enough?

For a small market and a business found mainly by name, often yes. The foundation makes the site crawlable and clear. Ongoing plans matter when you compete for generic searches or need content produced every month.

Can Redenn guarantee first-page rankings?

No, and neither can anyone else honestly. Rankings are decided by search engines' systems and by competitors. Redenn guarantees the work delivered and reports on the outcomes.

What is the difference between Search Setup and Search + AI Foundation?

Search Setup (CA$99) covers metadata, sitemap, robots and structured data. Search + AI Foundation (CA$299) adds Google Business Profile optimization, entity clarity, a crawler policy for AI search engines, IndexNow and citable content structure.

Does a new website need SEO?

It needs the foundation so that search engines can crawl and understand it, which is why Search Setup is included from the Business package up. Whether it needs a monthly plan depends on how competitive your searches are.

How long before search work shows results?

Technical fixes can be reflected within weeks; content and authority take months to compound. No honest provider states a fixed date, but every plan should show deliverables from month one.
