How much does a website cost in Canada?

The short answer

A business website in Canada costs from CA$99 for a professionally built one-page site to CA$1,299 and up for a ten-plus page site with search, CRM and chat wired in, using Redenn's published price list as the anchor; an online store starts at CA$1,499 and custom software is quoted. The wider market varies enormously with who builds the site and how, so this guide anchors on prices you can check on a public page rather than on averages nobody can audit.

Website cost by type of site

The table uses Redenn's published prices, dated 2026-09-24, because they can be verified line by line. Other Canadian providers price differently; where a category cannot be honestly generalized we say so rather than invent an average.

Every price is one-time and in Canadian dollars. Hosting and the domain are billed separately and are covered in the hidden-costs section further down.

The variables that move the price

Two five-page websites can differ widely in price. The difference is almost always one of six variables, each with a published figure at Redenn.

Design effort varies most between providers. Redenn builds from a component system, which is why a standard page has a fixed price; fully bespoke design or animation means a written quote.

  • Page count: an additional standard page is CA$49; a premium page with custom sections is from CA$99.
  • Who writes the words: inserting the copy you supply is CA$29 per page, tightening it is CA$49 per page, and professional copywriting is from CA$99 per page.
  • Features: contact form CA$29, booking CA$99, standard chat CA$49, newsletter signup CA$49, payment integration from CA$99, blog or simple CMS from CA$49.
  • Search foundation: Search Setup CA$99, Local Search Foundation CA$199, Search + AI Foundation CA$299, Complete Search Foundation from CA$499.
  • Brand assets: simple logo CA$49, Logo Pro CA$99, brand starter (logo, colours, type and a one-page guide) from CA$199.
  • Custom logic: anything with a database, user accounts or integrations is scoped and quoted rather than priced from a list.

What CA$99, CA$500 and CA$1,500+ actually get you

CA$99 buys one page with up to about five sections, built from Redenn components, mobile responsive, with one call-to-action and one revision round. It ships with placeholder copy and imagery that you replace, or with your content inserted for CA$29. It is a real, fast website on a global CDN, not a trial.

Around CA$500 buys the Business package: five standard pages, a spam-protected contact form, analytics, Search Console, the Search Setup foundation (titles, descriptions, canonical tags, sitemap, robots and structured data), a Google Business Profile link-up and two revision rounds. This is the first tier where being found by search is engineered rather than hoped for.

CA$1,500 and above is Growth System territory (from CA$1,299 before content and hosting) or an ecommerce build (from CA$1,499). At this level the site is a system: forms and chat feed a CRM, the Search + AI Foundation is in place and the architecture is ready for automation. Custom software sits above this, quoted with a written scope and a ship date.

Hidden and ongoing costs to budget for

The build price is not the whole cost of owning a website. These are the recurring or easily forgotten items, with Redenn's published figures where they exist.

  • Hosting: Redenn Lite CA$99 per year for static sites, Redenn Business CA$199 per year for sites with forms and server rendering, Redenn Dynamic CA$49 per month when a database is genuinely needed, Redenn Pro Managed CA$99 per month for larger applications.
  • Domain: the registrar's live price for the name plus a CA$9.99 per year management fee if Redenn manages it. You own the domain either way.
  • Third-party usage: SMS, telephony, email sending, AI models and external APIs above included tiers are billed by the provider, not bundled into hosting.
  • Your own time: gathering photos, writing service descriptions and approving revisions is the cost people forget most often, and the most common reason a project runs late.
  • Changes after launch: new standard pages are CA$49 each; a blog or CMS from CA$49 lets you publish without a developer.
  • Search work: the build includes a foundation, not a campaign. Monthly plans start at CA$299 per month for one location and are optional.
  • Sales tax: prices are quoted in CAD before applicable tax; confirm how tax applies on your quote.

Methodology and limitations

Every figure above comes from Redenn's public price list as of 2026-09-24. We did not survey other Canadian agencies or freelancers, and we do not publish estimated market averages, because such numbers are usually a guess dressed as a statistic. When you compare quotes, compare the scope line by line, not the headline.

Limitations to keep in mind: 'from' prices are floors, not quotes, and the final figure depends on scope. Prices exclude third-party usage, stock photography licences and translation. A website's commercial value also depends on inputs no builder controls: your offer, your reviews and how quickly you answer enquiries.

How to get an accurate number quickly

Answer the questions below and the total becomes arithmetic, not negotiation. Run the answers through the website cost calculator, or send them to Redenn for a fixed price with a ship date.

  • How many pages do you genuinely need? List them by name. A local business commonly needs home, services, about and contact.
  • Who writes the words: your copy as supplied, your copy tightened, or professional copywriting?
  • Do you need booking, payments, chat or a newsletter signup, and is there a real process behind each one?
  • Do you need to be found in one neighbourhood, across a province or by AI search engines? Pick the foundation to match.
  • Does anything require a database or customer logins? If yes, expect a quote and dynamic hosting.

Questions

Is a CA$99 website a real website?

Yes. The Launch package is a one-page, mobile-responsive site built from Redenn components and deployed to a global CDN. It is limited to one page, one call-to-action and one revision round, and it ships with placeholder content unless you add content insertion for CA$29.

Do I have to pay monthly for a website?

The build is one-time. Hosting is recurring, from CA$99 per year for a static site. Monthly search plans, the AI receptionist and website chat are optional subscriptions, not requirements.

How much does a five-page website cost in Canada?

At Redenn, CA$499 for the Business package, including a contact form, analytics, Search Console and the Search Setup foundation. Elsewhere the price varies with the provider's process and design effort, so compare scope rather than headlines.

Why do website quotes vary so much?

Because scope, design effort, content responsibility and ongoing obligations differ between providers, and many quotes do not spell those out. A published price list makes a like-for-like comparison possible.

Does the price include hosting and a domain?

No. Hosting starts at CA$99 per year, and the domain is the registrar's live price plus a CA$9.99 per year management fee if Redenn manages it for you.

Can I start with a small site and upgrade later?

Yes. Additional standard pages are CA$49 each, and features such as booking, a blog or chat can be added to a Launch or Starter site later without rebuilding it.
