Websites, search and automation for plumbers

The short answer

A plumbing company needs a website that turns an urgent search into a phone call or a booked job, and a system behind it that catches the calls you miss while your hands are inside a wall. Redenn builds that on Next.js, from a Business site at CA$499 to a Growth System from CA$1,299, and adds AI Receptionist from CA$149/month so a missed emergency call still becomes a lead.

The problems we hear from plumbing companies

  • Emergency calls come in while I am under a sink, and by the time I call back they have booked someone else.
  • People fill in the estimate form, I answer two days later, and the job has gone cold.
  • We cover a dozen towns but search only shows us in the one where the shop is.
  • We do good work and nobody leaves a review, so one bad review sits at the top.
  • The website says nothing about drain cleaning, water heaters or backflow testing, so those searches go elsewhere.
  • Dispatch is a whiteboard and a group chat, and jobs get double-booked.

The solution architecture

Each piece maps to a real Redenn service with a published price.

  1. Missed-call recovery

An AI Receptionist answers the calls you cannot take, asks whether it is an emergency, captures the address and the problem, and texts you a summary so you can call back or dispatch. It does not replace you; it stops the call from disappearing.

  2. Service-area pages that reflect where you actually work

One page per town or region you serve, with the services offered there, honest response-window wording and a link to your Google Business Profile. Built as real pages, not a list of city names stuffed into a footer.

    Local Search
  3. Google Business Profile done properly

Categories, service list, service area, hours including emergency hours, photos of real trucks and jobs, and a consistent name, address and phone across the web.

    Google Business Profile Optimization
  4. Estimate follow-up in minutes, not days

When someone submits an estimate request, an automatic reply confirms it, asks for photos, and reminds you until you respond. Quotes that go quiet get a polite nudge.

    Lead Follow-Up Automation
  5. Reviews requested after every completed job

A message goes out when the job is marked done, with a direct link to your review profile. Consistent asking is what builds a review count; nothing is faked or filtered.

    Review Automation
  6. A simple job pipeline

A CRM configured for enquiry, estimate, scheduled, done and invoiced, with every form, chat and phone lead landing in it with its source. You see what is open at a glance.

    CRM Setup
  7. A fast site that works on a cracked phone screen

Plumbing searches happen on mobile, often in a stressful moment. Large tap targets, a phone number in the header, and pages that load fast on a weak signal.

Where plumbing companies usually start

How customers find a plumber in Canada

Two kinds of people look for a plumber. The first has water on the floor and searches for an emergency plumber near them, then calls the first business that looks real and answers. The second is planning: a water heater replacement, a bathroom rough-in, a sump pump before spring. They compare a few companies, read reviews and send estimate requests.

Both start on Google, and increasingly on AI assistants that summarize local businesses. Google states that its AI features in Search use the same core index and ranking systems as regular results, with no special requirements beyond standard SEO practice, so the work is the same: a clear, fast site, an accurate Google Business Profile and consistent business information.

The emergency searcher is won by the phone number, the hours and the first impression. The planner is won by service pages that explain the job, honest cost ranges where you can give them, and proof of work.

What a plumbing website must do

The site is a dispatcher that never sleeps. Every page should make it obvious what you do, where, and how to reach you now.

Pages and features for a plumbing company, and why each exists
Page or featurePurpose
Tap-to-call header with hoursThe emergency searcher needs one tap, not a contact page.
Emergency plumbing pageStates response windows honestly and what counts as an emergency.
One page per core serviceDrains, water heaters, leaks, fixtures, sump pumps, backflow: each a distinct search.
Service-area pagesCoverage for each town or region you actually serve.
Estimate request form with photo uploadLets planners send the problem; feeds the CRM and the follow-up sequence.
Reviews and job photosProof that you show up and finish.
Licence and insurance statementAnswers the trust question before the call.

Automation and CRM for plumbers

The gap that costs a plumbing company most is response time. A form reply sent within a minute and a missed call answered by an AI Receptionist change the odds of getting the job without adding an office employee.

A worked example at published Redenn prices: a Business Plus site at CA$799 (eight pages, booking, blog), Lead Follow-Up Automation from CA$149, CRM Setup from CA$299 and AI Receptionist from CA$149/month. Hosting on Redenn Business is CA$199/year. Telephony usage for the receptionist is billed separately. That is a one-time build starting under CA$1,300 plus a monthly cost from CA$149 for call coverage.

  • Instant confirmation on estimate requests, with a photo prompt.
  • Reminder to you if a lead is untouched after a set time.
  • Review request after every job marked complete.
  • Pipeline stages that match how you actually run jobs.

Compliance and trust

Plumbing is a regulated trade, and licensing and permit rules are set provincially. Your site should state where you are licensed and insured in plain words and avoid claims you cannot show. If you serve Quebec customers, the Charter of the French Language requires commercial websites to be available in French.

Contact forms collect personal information. Under PIPEDA, or the substantially similar provincial laws in Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta, say what you collect and why. Promotional texts and emails to past customers need consent and an unsubscribe option under CASL; a review request after a job is a service message, but a seasonal promotion is not.

When this is not the right fit

If you are a single-truck operation with all the work you can handle from word of mouth, a Launch page at CA$99 with your number and licence is enough. The full architecture above is for companies that want to grow past the owner's phone.

Questions

How much does a plumbing website cost with Redenn?

A Launch page is CA$99, Starter is CA$299, Business is CA$499 and Business Plus is CA$799. A Growth System with CRM and chat starts at CA$1,299. Hosting starts at CA$99/year.

Can the AI Receptionist tell an emergency from a routine call?

It asks the caller and applies the rules you set, for example flagging active leaks for immediate call-back and booking routine work into a slot. It messages you the summary either way. Telephony usage is billed separately from the CA$149/month plan.

Do service-area pages actually help?

They give search engines and customers a real page for each area you serve, with local detail and your services. They are not a guarantee of ranking; nothing is. Thin duplicate pages do not help and we do not build them.

Can you connect the site to my existing job software?

Often yes, through CRM integration from CA$99 when the software has an API or email intake. We confirm the integration path before quoting.

Do I need a blog as a plumber?

Not necessarily. Service pages matter more. A short set of practical articles (frozen pipes, water heater age, what a sump pump does) can help planners find you, and Business Plus includes a CMS if you want it.
