How much does business automation cost in Canada?

The short answer

Business automation at Redenn starts at CA$149 per workflow, one-time, for a lead follow-up, reminder or notification workflow that is built and tested; CRM Setup starts at CA$299, and ongoing AI products such as website chat (from CA$99 per month) and the AI receptionist (from CA$149 per month) are subscriptions. The cost of a workflow is driven by how many systems it touches and how many exceptions it must handle, not by a software licence.

What a workflow is

A workflow is a rule that runs without you: when this happens, do that. When a form is submitted, reply within a minute and create a CRM record. When a job is marked complete, send a review request the next morning. When a quote has had no answer for three days, remind the salesperson. Each one replaces a task someone was supposed to remember.

Redenn builds workflows on the tools you already use where possible (your calendar, your CRM, your email and SMS providers) and on custom code where the tools do not connect. The price covers design, build and testing; the messages themselves are billed by the SMS or email provider.

Workflow examples and what they cost

The table shows the workflows Redenn builds most often, with the published from-price that applies. Where a workflow needs a CRM or booking integration that does not exist yet, that add-on is listed too.

What to automate first

Order matters. Automate the step where the most money is lost for the least effort, which for a service business is usually the gap between an enquiry arriving and a person answering it.

  • First: an instant reply to every enquiry, because speed of response decides who gets the job.
  • Second: a missed-call text back, for the same reason.
  • Third: appointment reminders, because a no-show costs a whole slot.
  • Fourth: review requests, because reviews compound and nobody remembers to ask.
  • Fifth: quote follow-up, because quotes go cold quietly.
  • Later: document generation, reporting and internal notifications, once the customer-facing steps are running.

What drives the price up

A from-price of CA$149 covers a workflow with one trigger, a couple of actions and clear rules. These are the things that move it.

  • Number of systems: a workflow that touches the website, a CRM, a calendar and an SMS provider has four places to fail and four to test.
  • Exceptions: what happens on weekends, for existing customers, for spam, for a customer who replies STOP.
  • Custom connections: when your CRM or booking system has no usable interface, code must be written.
  • Data rules: workflows that store personal information need consent, retention and unsubscribe handling built in, not bolted on.
  • Volume: higher message volumes raise the third-party usage line even when the build price does not change.

What automation will not fix

Automation multiplies whatever process you have. If the process is unclear, it multiplies confusion.

  • It will not fix an unclear offer or pricing nobody can explain.
  • It will not make a team follow up if nobody owns the task the workflow creates.
  • It will not replace consent: promotional messages still need consent and an unsubscribe under CASL.
  • It will not stay correct on its own; when hours, prices or staff change, the workflow needs updating.

Ongoing costs

The workflow build is one-time. The messages it sends are billed by the SMS or email provider per message; any AI it uses is billed by usage; and a CRM may carry its own subscription. Redenn lists each of these on the quote so that nothing appears on a statement unannounced.

If the website itself needs a database to run the workflow, hosting moves to Redenn Dynamic at CA$49 per month. For most notification and follow-up workflows it does not, because the records live in the CRM or calendar and the site stays static.

Questions

How much does a single automation cost?

From CA$149 one-time at Redenn for a lead follow-up, reminder or notification workflow, built and tested. More systems and more exceptions raise the price; the quote states it before work starts.

Do I need a CRM before automating?

Not for reminders or review requests, which can run from your calendar or booking tool. For enquiry and quote follow-up a pipeline helps, and CRM Setup starts at CA$299.

What is the difference between automation and the AI receptionist?

Automation is a set of rules that send messages and create tasks. The AI receptionist answers live phone calls and is a subscription from CA$149 per month plus telephony. The two work well together: the receptionist captures, the workflow follows up.

Are SMS messages included in the price?

No. Messages are billed per message by the SMS or email provider. Redenn shows the expected usage as a separate line.

Can Redenn automate the tools I already use?

Usually. Most calendars, CRMs and messaging platforms can be connected. Where a tool has no usable interface, Redenn says so and quotes the custom work.

How long does an automation take to build?

It depends on the systems involved and the exceptions to handle. The quote states a ship date, and simple single-trigger workflows are the quickest to deliver.
