Custom CRM: built around your process, not the other way round

The short answer

A custom CRM is software built around the way your business actually sells and delivers, for the cases where every off-the-shelf CRM forces you into its process. Redenn builds them on Next.js and Supabase, quoted per project with a fixed price and ship date, and only after checking that a configured off-the-shelf CRM would not do the job for CA$299.

What changes

  • Records, stages and screens that mirror your operation instead of a generic sales funnel
  • No per-seat subscription; the whole team can use it
  • Data in your own Postgres database, exportable at any time
  • Integrations with your dispatch, accounting or field tools scoped as named deliverables

What is included

  • Fit test and written recommendation
  • Specification with screens, records, rules and roles
  • Fixed price and ship date
  • Build on Next.js, TypeScript and Supabase with row-level security
  • Migration of existing data
  • Training, documentation and full handover

How it works

  1. 01

    Fit test

We check whether a configured product would work. If it would, we say so and stop.

  2. 02

    Specify

Screens, records, rules and roles written down and priced as a fixed sum.

  3. 03

    Build in releases

Working software on staging in stages, tested with your real data.

  4. 04

    Migrate and launch

Existing data moved, team trained, system live on Dynamic or Pro Managed hosting.

Who this is for

Businesses whose customer process is unusual and central: a freight company tracking loads, drivers and customers together; a manufacturer quoting configured products; an immigration practice managing files with regulated steps; a builder handling selections and change orders per home. Off-the-shelf CRMs can be bent toward these, but the bending costs more than building.

It is not for a standard sales pipeline. Most businesses are better served by CRM Setup from CA$299, and the fit test exists to say so.

The fit test

We apply this before quoting. Custom only wins when the right-hand column dominates.

Off-the-shelf or custom CRM
QuestionPoints to off-the-shelfPoints to custom
Does the process fit a pipeline of stages?Yes, with minor renamingNo; records relate in ways a pipeline cannot show
How many people need access?Few; per-seat pricing is fineWhole team; per-seat pricing is punishing
What must it integrate with?Common tools the vendor supportsDispatch, machines, field apps, regulated systems
Are there regulated steps or records? No, or the vendor handles themYes, and you need control of where data lives
Will the process change often?RarelyYes, and you need to change it yourself

What it costs

The build is quoted from the specification. Running costs are Redenn Dynamic hosting at CA$49 per month or Pro Managed at CA$99 per month, plus any third-party usage. There is no per-seat fee. Compare that honestly with the vendor subscription you would otherwise pay across the team over several years.

Limitations and honest notes

Custom software needs upkeep, and a hosting tier that includes updates is the minimum. Change requests after launch are priced as website changes or scoped work.

Migration from an old system depends on the quality of its export. Expect some manual cleanup, and expect us to quote it separately if it is large.

Customer records are personal information under PIPEDA or provincial law; the build includes role-based access and audit logs, but policies and consent remain yours.

Questions

How is this different from CRM Setup?

CRM Setup configures an existing product for CA$299. A custom CRM is software built for you, quoted per project. The fit test decides which you need.

Do we pay a subscription?

No per-seat subscription. You pay hosting from CA$49 per month and own the code and data.

Who maintains it?

Redenn under the hosting tier, and any competent developer after that, because the stack is mainstream and documented.

Can it connect to our accounting software?

Yes, where the accounting tool has an API. It is scoped as a named integration in the quote.

Manage it. With custom crm.

Configure a website in minutes, or ask for a written quote. Quotes arrive within two business days.
