The short answer
A medical clinic website exists mainly to take pressure off the phones: hours, whether you are accepting patients, how to book, what to bring, where to park. Redenn builds clinic sites on Next.js with private intake forms, booking that works with your EMR's booking tool where one exists, and call coverage for non-clinical questions, from CA$799 for a Business Plus site.
The problems we hear from medical clinics
- The phone rings all morning with questions the website should answer: hours, are we accepting patients, do I need a referral.
- Our EMR has an online booking tool but nobody can find it on our site.
- Referring physicians still fax us because there is no better way to send a referral.
- New patient paperwork is a clipboard and a photocopier, and we retype it into the EMR.
- We have several physicians with different hours and the site shows one schedule.
- We are unsure what we are allowed to publish about services and physicians.
The solution architecture
Each piece maps to a real Redenn service with a published price.
Answer the phone questions on the page
A home page that states hours, roster status, booking method and walk-in rules in the first screen, kept current from the CMS by clinic staff. Each physician or provider has a card with their own hours and whether they are accepting patients.
Website DevelopmentBooking that uses the EMR's tool
Where your EMR offers online booking, the site links to it prominently and explains who can use it. Where it does not, a scheduling calendar for specific appointment types is added, with confirmations and reminders.
Booking SystemsNon-clinical call coverage
The AI Receptionist handles hours, directions, prescription renewal process questions and appointment requests, collects contact details and routes messages to staff. It is configured not to take clinical information.
AI ReceptionistPrivate intake and referral forms
New patient registration and referral submissions through access-controlled forms with retention rules, so paperwork arrives structured and referrals stop depending on the fax line.
Document AutomationA referral portal for physicians
For specialty clinics, a simple authenticated portal where referring offices submit referrals and see status. Quoted as custom work on Redenn Dynamic hosting.
Customer PortalLocal search and accurate listings
Google Business Profile with correct hours, services and providers, and consistent details across health directories, so patients get the right information before they call.
Google Business Profile OptimizationAccessible, fast pages
Clinic visitors include older patients and people using assistive technology. The site is built to WCAG-informed patterns, loads fast on mobile and meets Core Web Vitals thresholds as a design target.

Where medical clinics usually start
How customers find a medical clinic in Canada
Patients search for a walk-in clinic near them, a family doctor accepting patients, or a specific specialty after a referral. Many arrive already knowing the clinic and only want a practical answer: is it open, do I need an appointment, where is it. Referring physicians look for a referral form and a fax number, and a clear referral page is what makes a specialty clinic easy to refer to.
Google's AI features in Search use the core index and ranking systems, with no special requirements beyond standard SEO practice. For a clinic that means accurate hours and services on the site and on Google Business Profile, plain-language pages for each service, and consistent listings. Wrong hours in an AI summary generate the phone calls you are trying to prevent, so consistency matters more than volume.
What a clinic website must do
It should answer practical questions before the phone rings, route booking to the right tool, and collect information privately.
| Page or feature | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Home page status block | Hours, roster status, walk-in rules and booking method in the first screen. |
| Providers page with individual hours | Stops the calls about who is in when. |
| Booking page | Routes to the EMR booking tool or the scheduling calendar. |
| New patient registration form | Structured intake through a private channel. |
| Referrals page | Form, fax details and what to include; the page referring offices need. |
| Services and clinics page | Plain-language description of each service and who it is for. |
| Accessibility and privacy statements | Required for larger organizations and expected by patients. |
Automation and CRM for medical clinics
A clinic's system of record is the EMR, and the website should feed it, not replace it. Automation here is about deflecting routine calls, confirming appointments, and moving intake and referrals from paper to structured data staff can use.
Worked example at published prices: Business Plus at CA$799 with booking and a CMS, AI Receptionist from CA$149/month for overflow, and a reminder workflow from CA$149. Private intake forms need a database and authentication, so Redenn Dynamic at CA$49/month applies. A referral portal is quoted as Custom with a fixed price and ship date. Telephony usage is billed separately.
- Appointment confirmations and reminders with reschedule instructions.
- Intake submissions delivered to a staff queue, not a shared inbox.
- Referral acknowledgements to the referring office.
- Hours and roster changes published by staff from the CMS.
Compliance and trust
Physicians are regulated by a provincial college, and those colleges set expectations for advertising and for what may be said about services and practitioners. Keep claims factual, describe services plainly and confirm your college's guidance before publishing testimonials. Personal health information falls under provincial health privacy laws in addition to PIPEDA, and Quebec's Law 25 adds obligations including a designated privacy officer. Intake and referral data must move through a private, access-controlled channel and be retained according to your policy.
In Ontario, organizations with 50 or more employees must make public websites conform to WCAG 2.0 Level AA under the AODA. Smaller clinics are not exempt from good practice: accessible forms and readable pages serve the patients who need them most. Quebec clinics must make the site available in French, and any promotional messaging by email or SMS needs CASL consent and an unsubscribe option.
Questions
Can the website integrate with our EMR?
We integrate with the booking tool or link your EMR exposes. We do not build custom connections into clinical records; intake data is delivered to staff for entry or import according to your EMR's supported options.
Is an AI receptionist appropriate for a clinic?
For non-clinical questions and message-taking, yes, with rules that route anything clinical or urgent to a person or to emergency services guidance. It is not triage and is configured not to collect health details.
How are intake forms kept private?
Forms are stored in an access-controlled database with authentication for staff, on Redenn Dynamic hosting at CA$49/month, with retention rules you set. Nothing is sent as plain email.
Do we need an accessibility statement?
In Ontario, organizations with 50 or more employees have specific website obligations under the AODA. Any clinic benefits from an accessible build and a short statement of how to request help.
What does a clinic website cost?
Business Plus at CA$799 covers most single-site clinics. Multi-provider or specialty clinics with a referral portal move to a Growth System from CA$1,299 or a Custom quote.
