The most concrete Nova Scotia difference is the tax rate. HST in Nova Scotia has been 14% since April 1, 2025, while the three other Atlantic provinces stay at 15%. A store that sells across the region therefore charges two different HST rates a short drive apart, and a checkout set up before the change is wrong today. Rates change; verify with the CRA.
